Mr. Lafond has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from Université Laval as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Université de Sherbrooke. During his career, he has worked in the financial and consulting sectors, notably for the Bank of Montréal and Groupe Sacona Inc. He also held the position of Director of Municipal Relations for Eastern Québec and assumed responsibility for business development at the Société québécoise d’assainissement des eaux. From 1998 to January 2004, he was entrusted with the management of projects and the negotiation of agreements for Groupe François Lafond Inc.

Mr. Lafond has been a member of the BAPE since January 19, 2004. He has chaired fourteen public inquiry commissions and served as a commissioner in five other occasions.
